Synopse - A text is like a forest where we can walk around or, as Borges says, 'a garden full of paths that continually  branch off; even if there are no paved paths in the forest, everyone can find their own way, and at every tree they can decide to go right or left' . Infected by 'A field guide to getting lost' by Rebecca Solnit, Yeb Wiersma and Miek Zwamborn dwell through the 'trimmed nature' in the Amsterdamse Bos. They zoom in and out and are constantly changing from perspective. During walking and associating they put the imagination into motion to awaken the unteinted in themselves and in the forest. On their way they will make different interventions with their surroundings by showing photo- and video fragments from their collection of the (staged) wilderness on the spot. With the fragments you will be ushered into the role nature plays and has played in folk art, contemporay art, literature, film history, philosophy and music.

Vertakkingen [Branching] - The forest-like city park Amsterdamse Bos was the base for our reference playground. Seeing the park as our imaginary studio - a journey through different rooms, different chapters: Herenkamer, Schoorsteen, Spiegelzaal, Pinetum, Morene, Paardenpicknick, Ophelia, Torenkamer.

During the walk, we both displayed numerous references, relating to our own- and other artists' works. Image Above: Nabokov's butterfly drawings, Olivier Messiaen and his wife Yvonne Loriod taping bird sounds, Ulrich Ruckriem's sculpture at Amsterdamse Bos accompanied by a trimmed hedge, Grey Gardens, Bas Jan Ader's Tea Party, Jan Dibbet's white trunks, Miek's Forest Studio, Twigs collected from Marinus Boezem's Poplar Tree Cathedral, Wild Rabbit by Antonioni, Nightwood by Djuna Barnes, Tree Houses by Gordon Matta Clark.
