XXI + XXII: How Many Animals Did Adam And Eve Name In The Garden Of Eden + Parakeets In Amsterdam -Walking through Amsterdam you cannot miss the bright green coloured parakeets that inhabit the Dutch capital city. The combination of a low breeding success with the availability of good nest holes and food seems to allow this exotic species to live next to its native neighbours.

1. Hudig & Wiersma named their project after Milton’s work Paradise Lost. They value Milton’s epic poem for his sharp analysis on the fall of man. When Adam and Eve start to experience and ‘know’ they are both passionate and distinctive individuals, the Garden of Eden slowly dissolves. Especially his Reference Notes – which are a voluminous work in itself - have influenced Hudig & Wiersma’s version of Paradise Lost.

Paradise Lost Editions are loosely based on the French New Wave Movie Script Magazines Cahiers du Cinema. Hudig & Wiersma constructed the story by making use of a playful and diverse narrative; including photo stills, written scenes and dialogues, reference notes and stage directions. There is a difference though with the regular movie scripts. Paradise Lost was never meant to become a real film. The script is the final work.
